Recipe - Six Layer Casserole
Don’t you love it when you have a lot of stock vegetables and other goodies in your fridge that are going to go bad soon and you can’t think of what to use them for? Fear not! I have a solution that you can certainly use too. SOLUTION TO SPARE INGREDIENTS = CASSEROLE. This is a delicious casserole of all those stock ingredients you might have…and it’s not very hard.
Step 1: Ingredients (serving size: 6-8 dinner portions)
- garlic salt (to taste)
- black pepper (to taste)
- 1/2 yellow onion, diced
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 green bell pepper, diced
- 2 medium sized potatoes, sliced
- 2 medium roma tomatoes, sliced
- 4 celery stalks, chopped
- 14 oz. can of diced tomatoes with sauce
Grease/oil up the bottom of a 9×13 baking dish. Slice up your potatoes and lay them down as the first layer. Sprinkle with salt and pepper before spreading the chopped celery as the next layer. Preheat your oven for 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
Dice up your onion and green bell pepper. Spread the ground beef as the next layer. Salt and pepper that too before adding the onion and bell pepper.
Step 4: Tomato addition
Pour the can of diced tomatoes over the whole dish. Slice your tomatoes and layer it on top. Sprinkle with more salt and pepper.
Stick the dish into the oven and bake for 2 hours. I put foil over the top after about an hour and fifteen minutes.
