Recipe - Garlic Hummus
Garlic hummus anyone? My friend gifted me a jar of tahini a little while back (I never seem to force myself to go out and buy some...), and I finally felt the urge/need to make hummus. It was mainly the need considering my parents had just bought pita chips earlier in the day. I love how simple it is to make. Enjoy!
Step 1: Ingredients (yields 1 cup hummus)
- 1/4 cup lemon juice
- 1/2 tbsp garlic, crushed
- 1/2 cup tahini
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tbsp water, cold
- 1 1/2 cup chickpeas/garbanzo beans (drained if canned, cooked if dry)
Step 2: Prepping the beans
In a food processor or blender, combine the chickpeas/garbanzo beans with the crushed garlic. Pulse until it's a fairly smooth mixture.
Step 3: Finishing
Add in the remaining ingredients. Blend until smooth. For presentation purposes, sometimes it's nice to sprinkle a little paprika on top. Easy peasy lemon squeezy!
