I was hankering badly for some pho when I got home from my Chicago trip in late April but my flight was late at night. Duc said that he had been meaning to try this place out, and it was open until midnight. Yelp also told us that it accepted credit cards, something a lot of pho places don't do. So we head over, and I actually realized that I had been there years before while still in high school. I didn't remember how it tasted, so I figured we'd give it a shot.
I went with my default of a medium bowl of Phở Tái Nạm Sách (pho with rare steak, flank, and tripe) for under $6. No drinks though because I just wanted some warm broth. We both agreed that the broth was definitely a lot more oily than we liked (well, Duc kind of liked it) but at least it was fairly clear. However, I was detecting a distinct lack of the savory marrow I like tasting in my broths. I suppose they didn't use much of the beef leg bones? The noodle serving was quite small too but the meat serving plentiful. I'd say it was just an ordinary pho restaurant. I wouldn't go out of my way to try this place. Also, they do accept credit cards but for purchases of more than $20. We really wished the guy had mentioned that when we asked before being seated since we didn't have much cash on hand.
