Recipe - Pancakes
I woke up on my birthday (last Saturday) wanting to make something so I figured I'd give pancakes from scratch a whirl. They're actually quite easy. The unfortunate thing is that my younger brother and I were the only ones eating them so we each overindulged in the goodness. Check out this simple recipe that I got here! I'm going to experiment with other additions in the future. Also, this video linked here is completely relevant to this recipe post...
Step 1: Ingredients (yields 8 pancakes)
- oil, for pan
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 1/4 cup milk
- 1 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 3 tbsps unsalted butter, melted
- 3 1/2 tsps baking powder
Step 2: Preparing the ingredients
Sift together flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar. When completely sifted, create a well in the bowl to add in milk, the egg, and melted butter. Beat together until the batter is smooth.
Step 3: Finishing
Heat a griddle/pan with some oil. Pour batter in 1/4 cup portions into a circle and brown on both sides before serving with plenty of delicious syrup. My brother added cookie butter too, and that was glorious.
