[You can read my first review here.] After taking my mom and brother out to the beach late on a Sunday, we were tired and wanted some feel-good food. I suggested udon to which they heartily agreed. The closest place I knew of was O Udon.


When we walked in and ordered in the empty restaurant, we realized that we were being a bit jerk-ish as it was only 20 minutes until closing time. Luckily the guy obliged and I ordered shrimp tempura udon hot. It was pretty good as I remembered it which meant that it was solid udon but nothing out of the ordinary. I enjoyed it well enough however to finish almost all of it.


My little brother chose their chicken ramen (they've expanded their menu beyond udon it looks like), which was quite rich and heavily stocked with chicken broth. I like it a lot from what I had but again, with all ramen, saltiness would prevent me from eating a whole lot of it. Nevertheless, a surprisingly good bowl of ramen was had here. As for my mom, she had the veggie udon which came with a deep-fried nest of onions and corn. It tasted like putting onion rings in a rich broth...which I had no complaints about. I'd consider getting that next time! I think O Udon's a good place to come to to sate any udon needs but not the ultimate best place to get udon.
