The OC Fair 2013 is nearly upon us, and they are tempting you to "Come & Get It" this year. Is that a challenge? I'll accept, dear OC Fair! I don't know how I feel about trying out every fried food available but I'm sure my eyes will draw me in when I see them lining all the vendor booths & carts. The fair runs from July 12th (next Friday!) to August 11 this year at the OC Fair & Event Center in Costa Mesa. If you're in it for the food, you can sift through their handy dandy food guide available online here and plot out your meal plan for the month (it could take you that long to finish everything!). I'm also looking forward to checking out all the entries for the Best Of food competitions and craftsy things. Will some of our favorite people win what they entered for? We'll find out!

For all of you with families and fair-loving children, don't worry about being bored at all. There are rides and shows aplenty. This year, there will also be "Foodie Friend" mascots walking about, characters of beloved food items with their own neat personalities. I kind of like the cotton candy guy - he's got a mean unibrow that one. When you're at the fair, make sure to get the app on your phone for useful information to help you navigate your way around. FAIR HOURS
July 12 - August 11
(Open Wednesday - Sunday)
Wednesday - Friday: Noon - Midnight
Saturday & Sunday: 10 am - Midnight

      Did you see that they'll have Krispy Kreme Sloppy Joes, Deep-Fried Bacon-Wrapped Pickles and Waffle Dogs (a hot dog wrapped inside a waffle and all on a stick) this year?
